In the mid-nineteenth century, a merchant boy from Boroujerdi family fell in love with the daughter of the Tabatabaei family who were well-known merchants residing in the city of Kashan in the center of Iran. The father of the family agreed with this marriage only on condition that the boy builds a house similar to his glamorous castle. It took seven years for the boy, who had genuinely lost his heart to the girl, to fully construct the "Boroujerdi" house, to impress the father. The couple lived together in the same place for decades.
